Herzog & de Meuron was founded in Basel over 40 years ago. Now, it is an international partnership with projects across the globe – among them museums, hospitals, skyscrapers, arenas, and private and civic buildings. Swiss architectural firm is at the cutting edge of contemporary design, renowned for Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall, Beijing’s ‘Bird’s Nest’ Olympics stadium, and Miami Beach’s Lincoln Road multi-use parking structure. The founders, Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron, were known for their reappropriation of traditional architectural elements and their inventive use of both natural and artificial materials. The pair was jointly awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2001. This book is a tribute and a celebration. Five hundred Herzog & de Meuron projects from around the world in one book, one image of each. Each book is bound in a offset printed Irisprint. The covers change their colour composition slightly rainbowlike.
